A Taste For Life

As a non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) designation, we are proud to list the following accomplished projects through fundraising events, grants, and donations received.

• Donation of a permanent marker on the grounds of our state capital in remembrance of organ and tissue donors and their families.
• Sponsorship of seven donor families to the 2008 Transplant Games in Pittsburgh.
• Donation of remembrance trees at Donor Families ceremonies which are held to honor donors and their families.
• Sponsorship of 28 children who have received transplants to go to Camp Michitanki, a summer camp.
• In 2009, six college scholarships @ $2500.00 each were awarded to students of Michigan donor families.
• Sponsorship of a Michigan donor family to support their efforts to promote Organ and Tissue donation through competing in Triathlons across the United States.
• Donation of benches in memory of our loved ones in the memorial gardens at the Gift of Life Michigan office, Michigan Eye Bank and Beaumont Hospital.
• Sponsorships to donor family golf outings, as well as supporting and sponsoring events coordinated by other transplant games.

Provide a support system to organ and tissue donor families which we also extend into the transplant community. The Michigan Donor Family Council is focused on education and awareness concerning donation through our core values of integrity, commitment, and teamwork. We integrate these values into each opportunity to educate our community regarding the benefits of organ donation.
